What you are about to read is only a portion of the true story of what happened to the Junior Superfriends upon abandonment by "ambassadors of peace" Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman and the rest of the Justice League. It's difficult to say when it started. Was it the day Wendy and Marvin were told they had "graduated," while Marvin had still not perfected his "superleap" and Wendy, well, Wendy had yet to find a properly heroic persona? Maybe it started that day the Superfriends were purportedly killed when in actuality it was their robot duplicates. It's difficult to say when it started, but Marvin, no longer young, remembers the day he no longer yearned...to superleap. |

|
Flashback: Wonder Dog is happily bounding after a bad
guy, Wendy and Marvin (post-"graduation" but still young) following
quickly! They reach a cliffside as Wonderdog is about to catch
the petty criminal. Marvin attempts a superleap but is
brought down by an unexpected charley horse, and as Wendy helps
him up they see a hawk, a monkey, and an ice net glide
over the cliffside with the criminal held tight. The hawk, Jayna,
explains Wonder Dog didn't make it.
MARVIN: "WONDER DOG!...Nooo!" |

Marvin suddenly awakens, and we see he is old, shabby -- a mere
shell of his former optimistic, happy-go-lucky self. He can
still hear that biting giggle of that purple monkey with the long tail!
Marvin grabs his cane and heads out the door...
|
Marvin relfects on his friendship with Wendy and ponders the Wonder Twins' fate. Their eventual disappearance did not ease Marvin's heart, for he was forced out, replaced...by an alien whose main power was to become a puddle. Not even a large puddle. A puddle over which one could easily leap...if not for the bum leg. Yes, the Wonder Twins have long faded from the memories of the school kids and mountain climbers they were frequently saving, but Marvin knows what drove them into hiding...

While in the Everglades, saving students on an exploratory fieldtrip, they had to move fast! A Wonder Twin, and to this day, no one is quite sure which, called out either the 'form of,' or 'shape of,' a water buffalo, but confusion ran rampant in their alien minds! As who
becomes the "water buffalo"?...|
...Is it the master of ice & water, Zan?
Or the mistress of beasts, Jayna?! This began an horrific,
murderous rampage which some say has never ended!
MARVIN (shouting to the heavens): "Za-a-a-ann!!"

Ex-CIA freelancer and voluntary retiree of her company SF Security,
Wendy is now writing books -- bestsellers about US defense, covert ops,
and which Superfriend hated which! She's now in town to promote
"Trouble Alert: Confessions of a Junior Superfriend" -- her
newest title.
Marvin, knowing of Wendy's in-town tour, heads to the studio but frowns upon the rain has begun...and, worse, the rain is purple! They were behind Wonder Dog's death, and now, years later, they're trying to get him out of the way -- the Wonder Twins have returned!! Marvin quickly rushes to the studio as laughter echoes behind him. Marvin knows Wonder Dog would never give up the fight, and he hopes old friend Wendy will remember that too! Because Marvin needs Wendy, as Batman needs Robin...uh, sort of. This will be the last stand of the Junior Superfriends! It's brains versus powers, ice and beast versus smarts and leaps! One side will find love, one side will find defeat, but all will find out what it takes to truly be a super friend! |
