34 MISCELLANEOUS BRIAN & THE COCKROACH STORY IDEAS!

1. Brian notices a cockroach slip under the refrigerator when he flips on a light. Brian finds the bug and befriends him...before long Cockroach has moved himself right in to Brian's room -- for good!
2. Mrs. Persimmon accidentally sits on -- and squashes -- Cockroach... Brian & Ronnie have to get him off her backside without being caught!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:

BRIAN:

A peculiar but good 10-year-old kid. Shy, unsure, and a bit mischievous, Brian's best friend is his cockroach, named Cockroach. Brian will sometimes spout odd non sequiturs, enjoys eating crusty day-old cake, and is happiest when being gross. One of his other closest friends is his odd pal Ronnie. Faith is the girl who has a crush on Brian that she won't admit to, and Uh-Oh is the school bully who always picks on Brian and the other kids around him.

 
THE COCKROACH:

He's a bad seed. A troublemaker. A catalyst for trouble. Not to mention a cockroach. He's gross, he's mean, but he likes Brian and looks out for him. Cockroach wants to make Brian's life more interesting and make his own more fun. As much as he likes to help out Brian he can't help but get himself -- and Brian (and oft-times Brian's friends) -- into trouble!

Ronnie:
Only one word can describe him: bizarre. Well, "odd" is good too. "Eerie" can work if you find him just staring at you with that big grin of his. Ronnie is like a human goat, he'll eat anything. Ronnie doesn't have much to say, and he's pretty much agreeable to anything Brian suggests. Often, he'll use noises rather than words to communicate; sometimes he'll respond to questions and suggestions with just a nod of his head and a giggly snort of a laugh.

Faith:
She's an athlete of the highest caliber...well, for a girl who's age 10 anyway. She's got a crush on Brian -- everyone knows this but is afraid to say it to her face (except for the bully, Uh-Oh). Except for "liking" one of the weirdest boys at school, Faith is a fairly sensible girl.

Ernie:
Smart, relaxed and hasn't a care in the world; nothing phases him -- this is his weakness though as well. He's a good student, always "aces" the tests, and tends to finish his homework before the bus even gets him home! He's not really friends with Brian & Ronnie -- nobody is -- but he tends to get involved in their shenanigans from time to time.

Dougie:
A rebel without a...well, without a driver's license. Cool and smooth. A troublemaker -- but also a problem-solver. He's not too bright, but he's got street smarts. He likes to impress others and will go to great lengths to do so.
