ONE: In an interrogation room, the Hero Killer sits, waiting in a chair. SFX (from behind him, where his hands are cuffed): CLK! TWO: A man and a woman enter. The woman is the DA, the man a Police Captain in plain clothes. DA: So, that's him, Captain. Any ID? |
|---|
CAPTAIN: Nothing yet. The LAPD is contacting Interpol. They're assuming that not only did this mutt kill the Light Brigade, but that he's tussled with them before.
THREE:
CAPTAIN: He hasn't said a word since they cuffed him.
DA (to Hero Killer): Anything to say for yourself now?
She has stepped closer to him.
FOUR:
We see Hero Killer's got a hand free from the cuffs.
FIVE:
DA: Very well. The DA's office and RCPD no longer have use for you.
DA 2: We're shipping you out to LA this evening.
SIX:
Close on his hands again, he's slipped the free hand back into the open side of the cuffs.
SFX: CLK!

ONE: The ladies sit in the car, Katie's got the key in the ignition, but the car's not on. DEE: You all right? TWO: KATIE: What's it matter to you? You just want to get your man -- like a Canadian Mounted Policeman. SHAREEN: Hey. We all want this guy! |
|---|
THREE:
Katie angry now.
KATIE: You all want this guy! I could care less. I just want to keep living my life in private...away from heroes, away from my brother...
FOUR:
She's exiting the car.
KATIE: Go without me.
DEE: No way! Listen--
JESSICA: Enough of the hard sell, Dee. Katie.
FIVE:
JESS: Katie, there's a lot of things we need to straighten out...
JESS 2: ...Shareen's gotta find out what happened to her son...and her mother. Dee's got to see him, she needs that -- to see who killed Earth's Greatest Hero. Her husband.
SIX:
JESS: Me? Well, I pushed for Brightstar to go from a covert government operative developed by Mesozoic, Inc. to a Corporate Protector for Mesozoic -- because there was money in it.
JESS 2: Lots of people in the company have been killed because of the connection to him...
SEVEN:
JESS: And today...a lot of ordinary people, not even in the company, were killed because someone at Mesozoic was probably so scared for his or her life, that they told your brother where I lived.
EIGHT:
JESS 3: I think we all just want to see what happens next. I think our boys would want us to see it to the end.
SHAREEN: "Think" nothin'! Our boys would want us to kick him in the rear so hard, he'll have to wipe his nose after he goes to the bathroom!
NINE:
DEE (WHISPERING): Shush you fool! That's her brother, remember!
SHAREEN (embarrassed): Oh, cr-- sorry.
PAGE 11
TOP of page, five tight panels, leaving room for BIG panel beneath...
ONE:
JESSICA: The Pointer Sisters over there notwithstanding -- how about it?
TWO:
KATIE: ...I don't like you three.
KATIE 2: ...And I know you don't like me.
KATIE 3: And I'm scared as hell to see my brother.
THREE:
Katie has gotten (or is getting) back into the car...
KATIE: But I understand.
DEE: Cool.

|
FOUR: Angle on spinning tire... SFX: SCREEEEEE! FIVE: Big panel on page.... |
|---|
The car is shooting out of the garage...Shareen driving with one hand, the other hand is dabbing a tissue on her eye.
JESSICA: We can come together when it's important!
DEE: Yeah, I can throw-up it's so nice.
SHAREEN: Oh! It's like a very special hour of Oprah! It's so sweet!

ONE:
Nighttime in front of the 16th Precinct. There is a police motorcade parked out front -- a paddy wagon in the center. Reporters line the steps and t.v. trucks can be seen nearby. A crowd across the street is kept there by police barricades and officers.
TWO:
Angle on a reporter.
REPORTER: ...His name has not been released by police as yet but--
THREE:
The doors to the precinct are open...people are coming out.
Another reporter (maybe we can see the first reporter somewhere else in the shot) is seen.
REPORTER#2: It looks like they're bringing the suspect out now...The crowd behind the barricades is screaming--
REPORTER#2 2: --everything from "ship him off" to harsh obscenities.
FOUR:
Closer on the scene of the Hero Killer being led down the stairs...
Another reporter is seen...
REPORTER #3: Insiders say that there is no actual proof of the suspect's guilt, though judges have ruled that his appearance at a location police suspected to find the hero-killer next was enough to hold him and for his extradition back to LA.
REPORTER #3 2: Now, how police knew he was headed to this location, and this is a News 9 exclusive, is quite interest--
FIVE:
A bottle is flying towards the Hero Killer as he reaches the street.

NOTE TO ARTIST:
Until otherwise noted, the pages are divided into 12 (yes, that is not a type-o) panels per page! Basically, it's your typical six-panel set-up, only each of these panels are cut in half vertically, creating 12 medium-sized panels which will hold all of the following action... |
|---|
ONE:
A random officer screams.
OFFICER: Watch out!!
TWO:
People are ducking, Hero Killer avoids the bottle, but it has hit an officer holding onto him.
THREE:
Several cops scramble into the crowd.
COP: I saw who it was!
COP 2: We're right behind you!
FOUR:
COP 3: People, step aside! Step aside!! Let us through!
FIVE:
Still on the ground, Hero Killer is already out of his cuffs, but his hands are still behind his back.
SIX:
Officers are on top of him, covering him, but not holding him as they're unaware he's free (his back is either to the ground or against the wagon [police truck] or something).
SEVEN:
We get a shot of the hurt cop being taken away with a tourniquet to his bloody head..
EIGHT:
Back to Hero Killer and officers pushing him against the ground or wagon.
OFFICER: You might be scum from the bottom of the pond, fella, but we're gonna get you to LA.
NINE & TEN (as one panel):
It's the ladies, having arrived in Railway City, their car is at the end of the street. This can be a close shot where some of the goings on are reflected in the window or hood OR some other kind of shot which focuses on them, allowing the reader to know they're near the action.
DEE: Ma-a-an!
JESSICA: This must be the place. What a circus.
SHAREEN: My butt is so sick of this car.
ELEVEN:
The Hero Killer's back is still to the wagon [police truck]. The officer from before is opening the back door where they all now stand.
OFFICER: Ready to ride. Any last requests?
HERO KILLER: Make me a promise.
OFFICER: Lookit that! The bug does talk! What kind of promise?
TWELVE:
HERO KILLER: Cross your heart, now.
OFFICER: Yeah, jerk, and "hope to die."
Page 14
ONE:
The Hero Killer has lunged at the officer, the handcuff keys pointing out.
HERO KILLER: Stick a needle in your eye!
The other nearby officers are stunned, unmoving.
TWO:
OFFICER: AAUUGH!!
He's poked the key into his eye -- needless to say, it's quite painful.
THREE:
Officers have jumped on both men.
FOUR:
Angle on a reporter (one from before or yet another - either way)
REPORTER: There seems to be a tussle of some kind by the transport for the prisoner. I'm unsu--
FIVE:
From pile of officers and such...
SFX: BANG! BANG-BANG-BANG!!!
| NOTE TO ARTIST: How about here we have bright flashes around the gun -- something different than the usual white or yellow bursts -- to illustrate the shots from the gun...THEN, below, instead of repeating the SFX, we'll use solely the flashes [because repeats of "Kapow" or "Bang" will quickly become tedious] |
|---|
SIX:
The people are running off.
SEVEN:
Cops have backed up.
EIGHT:
Now seeing the scene clearly, both the Hero Killer and two officers lay on the ground, there's definitely blood spilled.
NINE & TEN:
The girls are still in the car...
SHAREEN: That was gunfire!
DEE: Turn the radio up! Hear the news.
Jessica looks impatient; Katie unemotional.
ELEVEN:
An officer carefully approaches the Hero Killer and the officers who all lay upon the street (or sidewalk).
TWELVE:
Extreme close on the Hero Killer's eye -- opened!
